Honorary Members

Membership of Golden Key is only opened to undergrad who are top 15% of their class. However, we believe that the amazing professors around campus who have touched your life deserve to be recognized. If there is a professor who has made an impact in your life, or has represented the pillars of Golden Key (Leadership, Academics, Service), follow the link below and nominate them. The top nominated professors will be invited to become honorary members of Golden Key and will be presented with an award at an Honorary Member Dinner in Winter semester.

Dr. Hal Miller

Since joining the BYU faculty 43 years ago, I have pursued several lines of research with undergraduate- and graduate-student research assistants. Our current work involves the behavior measurement of the asymmetry of gains and losses. My most notable publication appeared in 2016--the SAGE Encyclopedia of Theory in Psychology. Along the way, I have been a dean and a member of several university, college, and department committees. Similarly, I have been a leader and member of many volunteer groups in the community and was, for four years, a member of the Provo City Council, where I developed the Provo Clean Air Toolkit. My commitment to education includes the design and leadership of private schools in Utah and China.

Dr. Shad Morris

Professor Shad Morris received his Ph.D. from Cornell University. He teaches and conducts research on people, strategy, and the global economy. He has been on the faculty at MIT’s Sloan School of Management, Samsung’s SKK Graduate School of Business and The Ohio State University. He has co-authored five books and regularly publishes in journals such as Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review and Human Resource Management.
